Texas prisons end special last meals before executions
Texas prisons will end a long tradition of offering a special last meal to those sentenced to death. The decision came after Lawrence Russell Brewer requested a lavish dinner sparked outrage from a Texas senator. His request included two chicken fried steaks, fried okra, a pound of barbeque, and pint of ice cream, and he didn't eat any of it. In the future, death row offenders will get only what the kitchen serves.
