Cowboys' videoboard causes trouble at Jerry World: Board interferes with punt, Cowboys’ videoboard, an essential and popular piece of Jerry World — or AT&T Stadium, which was formerly called Cowboys Stadium — but this digital piece that offers football fans such a great look at what’s going on down at the field has gotten more than little bit in the way this week.
According to USA Today this Sunday, Aug. 25, one of the most unique aspects of Jerry World may be the giant video board that seems to loom over the field, but during Dallas’ preseason game this Saturday with the Cincinnati Bengals, there was some definite interference.
The Cowboys’ videoboard may not have been a majorly contributing factor in the Cowboys’ win of 24-18 over the Bengals, but it seems that Cowboys’ big punter, Chris Jones, led to some interference with his punt.
One of his kicks this weekend sent the ball right into the video board, leading officials to call for a do-over. It was a problematic one, as following the do-over kick, Bengals player Brandon Tate made the most of the kick, taking the football down the field all the way for a full 75-yard touchdown.
Although this may have only been a preseason game, it seems that the Cowboys’ videoboard is something that needs to be taken into consideration at Jerry World. As one site joked:
“This is just another fine example in sports of good ol’ Jerry Jones being a bit too involved in what happens right on the field.”
What did you think of the Cowboys' videoboard interfering with Jones' kick this weekend during the pregame?
