John Edwards did not speak at Elizabeth Edwards' funeral, ELIZABETH Edwards‘ estranged husband John Edwards will be attending her funeral in Raleigh, North Carolina, Saturday.
The funeral — which will be open to the public — will include eulogies from Elizabeth’s eldest daughter, Cate, and two close friends.
But former presidential hopeful John — who cheated on Elizabeth with mistress Rielle Hunter – won’t be speaking.
“Elizabeth would want it this way. She hated what John did but never stopped loving him,” a source told the PopEater website.
“She died in the home she built with John, surrounded by loving memories of their time together and at peace.
“He will never forgive himself for what he did to her and she will remain in his heart for the rest of his life.
“We were all praying for a miracle. But now realize Elizabeth was our miracle. Just having her in all our lives was the best gift of all. She will never be forgotten.”
Elizabeth passed away earlier this week after losing her valiant battle with cancer. She was 61.
Meanwhile, sources say Rielle — who is the mother of John’s love child Quinn — is hoping to tie the knot with the shamed politician.
“Rielle has been very patient through all of this,” an insider told RadarOnline.
“She still believes that John is her soul mate, and she thinks that they’re going to get married.
“She doesn’t care about anyone but herself. She’s been selfish and horrible this whole time, no matter what else has been said about her.
“She will say nice things about Elizabeth, but only if it makes her look good.”
