Padma Lakshmi's baby daddy Adam Dell, Padma Lakshmi and ex Adam Dell have been at odds since the birth of their daughter Krishna.
Padma Lakshmi's baby daddy isn't going bye-bye anytime soon.
The "Top Chef" host's ex Adam Dell, brother of technology titan Michael Dell, has claimed a major victory in court: the former couple's daughter will take on his last name.
Lakshmi's tiny tot will now go by Krishna Thea Lakshmi-Dell, according to court documents.
Additionally, Dell will have extra custody and visitation rights, less than the full-custody he sought but more than the restrictive visitation agreement he and Lakshmi had previously entered.
Lakshmi, 41, and Dell, 42, a venture capitalist, have been at odds since the birth of their daughter Krishna, whom Lakshmi had openly hoped was her ex-beau Teddy Forstmann's child.
Dell sued the reality TV personality in Manhattan Supreme Court last year after she reportedly refused to name him as the father, despite DNA tests that confirmed his paternity.
"I've never seen a father so devoted to being a good father to his child," William Zabel, a lawyer for Dell, said in court papers at the time.
"She is trying to have her boyfriend take the role of father and that's just wrong."
Forstmann, Lakshmi's 71-year-old mogul beau, died last November, and left behind a trust fund for Krishna, 2.
In a 16-page complaint filed by Dell and his lawyers in the court case, Lakshmi is accused of teaching her daughter to refer to the mogul, who was worth an estimated $1.8 billion, as "Papa."
In response, a lawyer for Lakshmi called Dell's claims "inaccurate and misleading."
"Ms. Lakshmi looks forward to correcting the record in the courts, not the press," Jay Silverstein told the Daily News in a statement at the time. "She is saddened and gravely disappointed that Mr. Dell has chosen a very public means of filing his petition with the court rather than doing so in a confidential or sealed manner which is customary in cases involving a very young child."
Added a spokeswoman for the TV host: "Ms. Lakshmi believes that family matters should be kept private.
"She asks that those who join her in wanting the best for her daughter do the same."
