However, Season 17 duo Val Chmerkovskiy and Elizabeth Berkley took it to the next level during rehearsals.
As to be expected, Val was familiar with Elizabeth from Saved by the Bell — but he loved her co-star more! In the video below, he explains that he learned English from the hit ‘90s show… but it was Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani Thiessen) who taught him, not her character, Jessie Spano!
“Well, honestly I was a fan of the other one,” he confessed. What was her name?” When she points out that it’s Kelly, he exclaims, “Kelly Kapowski — that’s the one!”
They laugh it off, so clearly she’s not mad, and at the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter. After all, Elizabeth will be learning dance moves from him now — or at least the ones she didn’t take from Showgirls!
