Adam Scott still a long way from Tiger Woods' No. 1 spot, says Brett Ogle, ADAM Scott is as close as he's ever been to the world No. 1 spot. But he's still a long way away.
According to FOX SPORTS golf analyst Brett Ogle, Scott will struggle to run down Tiger Woods at the top of the rankings even if the Australian's irresistible form continues well into 2014.
"I've never fully understood the world rankings since they came out in 1985 - you've always got to delve deep into it, and I wish anyone who tries to understand it all the best," Ogle said.
"But in my view, Scott's a long way from Tiger, who's had five wins and other good performances in the majors this year.
"Adam's too far off."

If Scott claims the "triple crown" of Australian golf with victory at the Australian Open late this month, he could potentially pull within a point of Woods heading into season 2014.
But Ogle says the only way Scott can topple Tiger is to continue winning tournaments well into next year.
"Scott has to start winning a lot more," Ogle said.
"Tiger's had nine wins in two years, against three for Scott. Whenever Tiger tees it up he's always in the top 10, so he's always accumulating.
"All Scotty can do is keep winning, and that's not easy."
Ogle said another threat to Scott's chances of becoming world No. 1 was Henrik Stenson, the Swede who took the Race to Dubai title by winning the season-ending DP World Tour Championship title over the weekend.
"From July this year, Stenson has been unstoppable," Ogle said. "Three wins, three runner-ups - for mine he's the hottest player for the second half of the year, no doubt."
Ogle did, however, admit Scott could hardly be playing any better.
"Since he's gone to the long putter, his stats have gotten so much better and it's taken pressure off his long game," Ogle said.
"He's riding a high and it's because he's making putts. Everybody hits the ball similarly, but it's being a consistent putter that gets you to the top.
"Woods has always been a great putter."
