Barack and michelle obama 21st anniversary
Barack and michelle obama 21st anniversary, Happy Anniversary, Barack and Michelle Obama! Today marks the couple's 21st wedding anniversary, and while it's unclear how the pair will be celebrating in light of the government shutdown, there's no doubt these two have nothing but love for each other.

Last year, the duo's milestone 20th anniversary fell on the day of the presidential debate, when Barack faced off against Mitt Romney, but the couple still found time to appreciate each other, sharing sweet sentiments on Twitter.

"Twenty years ago today, I married the love of my life and my best friend," the president tweeted on Oct. 3, 2012. "Happy anniversary, Michelle. —bo"

And Michelle wasn't shy about sharing her sentiments, reciprocating her hubby's love shortly after.
"Happy 20th anniversary, Barack," she tweeted. "Thank you for being an incredible partner, friend and father every day. I love you! —mo"

Neither Barack nor Michelle have made any mention of their anniversary on social media this year, understandably so, considering there are a few other pressing matters currently going down in Washington, D.C.

But the couple has never played coy when it comes to discussing their happy marriage in the past, and Michelle recently opened up to Vogue magazine about the life lessons she's learned from her hubby.

I've learned that from my husband, that sort of, you know, ability to not get too high or too low with changes and bumps in the road…to do more breathing in and just going with it. I'm learning that every day," she said.
Likewise, Barack also told Vogue that Michelle has made him a better person:

"What Michelle has done is to remind me every day of the virtues of order," he said. "Being on time. Hanging up your clothes. Being intentional about planning time with your kids. There's no doubt I'm a better man having spent time with Michelle."

And he even most recently revealed that his missus served as his sole motivation for kicking his smoking habit: "I haven't had a cigarette in probably six years," he said while privately chatting with UN General Assembly attendee Maina Kiai in late September, before adding (while unaware that his mic was still on), "That's because I'm scared of my wife."
