Maulik Pancholy, known for his role as Jack Donaghy’s (Alec Baldwin) neurotic assistant Jonathan on 30 Rock, officially came out as gay in the latest issue of Out magazine. He even included the super cute detail that he is celebrating his nine-year anniversary with his partner!
Maulik Pancholy Gay — 30 Rock’s Jonathan Comes Out, Reveals 9-Year Relationship So sweet! Maulik opened up about his sexuality, telling Out magazine that he has been dating his current partner for nine wonderful years, US Weekly reports.
“I just celebrated my nine-year anniversary with my partner,” Maulik told Out. ”It feels like a nice time to be celebrating something like that, especially on the heels of the DOMA and Prop 8 decisions.”
We couldn’t agree more! This has been an amazing breakthrough year for gay rights and we’re so happy many LGBT couples have been able to get married, as well as continue to provide support for people such as Maulik who are going public with their sexuality for the first time.
LGBT Members On This Year’s Out100
There is a long list of other celebs who also came out in 2013.
Maulik made the Out100 list with other stars including Glee’s Jonathan Groff, American Horror Story’s Denis O’Hare, Scandal’s Guillermo Diaz, and Suburgatory’s Rex Lee.
In January, Jodie Foster, 50, came out during the 2013 Golden Globe Awards, telling the millions of viewers and celebs watching that she is a lesbian. Her coming out speech was inspiring to all — she even brought some people in the audience to tears as she talked about her modern family with partner Cydney Bernard.
