Pittsburgh shooting update: Police on the hunt for suspects in school shooting, The Pittsburgh shooting that happened near Brashear High School today led SWAT team police on an intense search for the shooter. According to the latest reports from police, three students were shot this afternoon near the Pittsburgh high school, ABC News said.

Following the Pittsburgh shooting, six people were taken into custody. However, their involvement in the shooting has not been made clear as of yet.

Regarding the Pittsburgh shooting incident, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl stated that it appears as if the shooting was an isolated incident and he insisted that police have the situation under control.

Those injured in the shooting were all boys, police stated. Their injuries were described as being non-life threatening.

Police stated that three men dressed in black were reportedly seen shooting toward the school from a hill above.

The Post Gazette reports that one of the victims was grazed in the head by a bullet while another was grazed in the neck and shoulder. The third student was shot in the foot and arm.

According to police, the victims knew the shooter or shooters. Police spokeswoman Diane Richard also revealed that the victims are not cooperating with police. Richard said "they have some leads on the actor or actors."

Richard said the shooter or shooters ran into nearby woods after the shooting. Police then began searching for suspects. It is still unclear as to whether there was, in fact, more than one shooter.

One of the victims ran into the school after being shot, Richard said. The three victims were transported to local hospitals.

Immediately after the Pittsburgh shooting, the school was placed on lockdown.

In a statement, Pittsburgh Public Schools superintendent explained that although Brashear High will be open tomorrow, the school will be on a modified lockdown for the remainder of the week. Only those with scheduled appointments will be granted entrance to the schools.

"We are taking this matter seriously and focusing on the safety of our students," she said in the statement. "Our thoughts go out to the families of the victims."

She also made it clear that the Pittsburgh shooting didn't happen on school grounds.
