Teacher hits student, A teacher in Beaumont has been fired after a 7th grader said the teacher punched him and knocked him unconscious. 12-year-old Reginald Wells says he made a joke about the teacher's favorite football team. The teacher then punched him in the shoulder.
The boy says he then pushed the teacher in the shoulder. That's when he says the teacher blindsided him with a punch to the face that knocked him out. Another teacher who witnessed the incident said the uppercut caused Reginald to slide across the floor.
The boy said the teacher told him he couldn't apologize for what he did, just that he was having a bad day and snapped. The teacher was escorted off campus and fired but Wells' mother Adrianne says he should be arrested. She wants to press charges with Beaumont ISD police but she says she hasn't from the school district since Friday.
