Trader Joe's recalls salads and wraps linked to E coli outbreak: Major recall, Trader Joe’s recalls salads and wraps due to an outbreak of E coli, which has sickened at least 26 people in three states. The outbreak is linked to some of the products that Trader Joe's and other stores sell that are made at a catering company in Richmond Virginia. The catering company is also recalling products today.

According to the L.A. Times on Nov. 11, the Glass Onion Catering Company is the company that supplies Trader Joes with the products that are believed linked to the E coli outbreak in three states. This is a major recall, reports Fox News live on Monday. Officials are asking anyone who purchased the company’s salads or wraps to throw them away.

The food was distributed to Trader Joe’s by Atherton Foods Inc. They’ve also distributed the products now under recall to Wallgreens and Whole Foods in eight states. The states are California, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Washington, Nevada, Oregon and Utah.

The foods were made between Sept. 23 and Nov. 6 with the “Best-by” expiration dates of Sept. 23 to Nov. 14. The products were labeled as Delish Greek Style Orzo Salad, Delish Asian Style Noodle Salad, Delish Vegetarian Wrap, Classic Greek Salad, Southwestern Salad Kit and Wheat Berry Salad Kit.

There are 90 tons of these prewrapped salads and wraps. They were all made with the fully cooked ham and chicken. Symptoms appear two to up to eight days after eating the tainted food. They include abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
