Troy Polamalu haircut, Troy Polamalu of the Pittsburgh Steelers followed through on his promise and cut his hair on Veteran’s Day to support the VFW “Mane Event”. However, the NFL player with famously long hair only cut one, three-inch lock according to UPI on Tuesday. This marks the first time scissors have touched Polamalu’s hair in ten years, not the smartest choice for optimal hair health.
Perhaps Troy Polamalu doesn’t care if his hair is healthy, but the football player does have one of the “most famous heads in America”, according to VFW Adjutant General, John Hamilton, who was thrilled “to have him (Troy Polamalu) take a role in our efforts.” It is imperative, even for someone such as Polamalu, to have frequent trims to avoid split ends, matted hair and knots, to maintain long locks.
The Head & Shoulders “Mane Event” was held at Heinz Field on Veteran’s Day in support of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). The locks taken will be auctioned off to raise money for the VFW organization. Troy Polamalu thanked his supporters on Facebook.
Just want to take a moment to thank everyone for your support of the #VFWManeEvent. With your help, the VFW will continue to make a positive impact on the lives of our veterans and their families. Special thanks to Head & Shoulders for Men and Sport Clips Haircuts for supporting me and Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW in this effort.
The Pittsburgh Steeler is under contract with Head & Shoulders and recently launched the shampoo brand’s first ever 'Whiff-A-Thon' event, which was the kickoff of the Season of the Whiff campaign. For every 'whiff' (strikeout) during the 2013 regular MLB season, Head & Shoulders made a one-dollar donation to Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities. Polamalu is also the celebrity face of Head & Shoulders for Men.
