Updates on Dwayne Bowe's Arrest for Possession of Marijuana and Speeding,The 9-0 Kansas City Chiefs have been perfect on the field this NFL season, but the same can't be said off it following wide receiver Dwayne Bowe's arrest for speeding and possession of marijuana on Sunday, as reported by Michelle Pekarsky of Fox 4 in Kansas City.
Per the police report, the incident occurred just prior to midnight local time on Sunday. Police stopped Bowe's car for going 48 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone, and it resulted in an officer discovering a substance that appeared to be marijuana:
[I]nside of a black bag the officer discovered the wallet of the driver and vehicle owner, Dwayne L. Bowe, and two containers that had 6.6 grams and 3.8 grams respectively of what is believed to be marijuana in them. Bowe was then placed under arrest for the possession of a controlled substance. The K-9 alerted to a black backpack and inside of that was found a container that had 4.2 grams of what is believed to be marijuana in it.
Bowe posted a bond of $750, according to the report, and was subsequently released. His court date is currently set for Dec. 18.
When reached for comment by Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, the Chiefs refused to comment but said they were aware of the situation involving Bowe.
It is unclear how this will affect Bowe's status for Kansas City's huge Week 11 game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday night. It also remains to be seen whether or not Bowe will be disciplined by the team or the league.
Bowe has had a disappointing season individually with just 33 catches for 369 yards and two touchdowns, but his absence would create a hole for the Chiefs in terms of receiver depth.
