To aid shoppers navigate the deals available today, price comparison idealo.co.uk has tips to make sure online shoppers don't get short-changed.

1. Check if there are any voucher codes available - it can make a big difference to how much money you save.

Shoppers should compare prices on short-term deals, be that from another retailer and with or without the use of a voucher code.

On occasion, a shop with voucher code discount can still work out more expensive than another shop not offering a code.

2. Online shops often reduce the RRP anyway, so you may not be saving as much as you think.

To help get a better idea of a product's historical pricing, use a price tracker to make an informed decision on your purchases.

3. If friends and family are flexible in terms of colour, design or specification, then finding a product for a given price can be a little easier.

Avoiding the more coveted colours and designs can save consumers money, so it's always worth checking if this is an option.
