"I feel so empty, and still not 4 days after birth," the 26-year-old fitness blogger captioned a photo of her self in a bra and underwear. The snap generated enormous response from social media, especially moms who pointed out that women already face an inordinate amount of scrutiny about their post-baby bodies.
"I feel fat because 'Soccer Lady' has given birth," blogger Suzanne Aabel titled a post.
"WHO ARE YOU POST THIS IMAGE? What do you want to say with this picture? Who are you talking to? What is the good purpose here? Why is this positive?," she wrote.
Norwegian politician Gry Larsen responded with a column about her own experience with post-baby body image. She included a photo of her own stretch-marked stomach two months after giving birth.
Eriksen said Tuesday that she wasn't bragging about her body.
"During the pregnancy, people kept telling me that my body will never be the same and I wanted to show everybody that’s not entirely true,” she said. “I think all women should be proud of themselves, regardless of how they look after labor."
