The 'We're The Millers' actress was arrested last month after she reportedly gave the actor a bloody nose and bite marks after a heated argument in Montreal, Canada.
All charges against the 22-year-old were dropped, but her publicist released a statement branding the confrontation as an"unfortuante incident" and suggested the couple were working through it together.
It's believed that while the couple have put on a united front, their relationship remains in turmoil behind closed doors.
“Emma and Evan fight a lot, their relationship is unhealthy.” a revealed a source to In Touch Weekly.
The young couple have seemingly chosen to stick together despite stern warnings from their loved ones.
It's believed they are trying to resolve their issues as they have been spotted out together on multiple occassions since Emma's arrest.
The insider added. "They’re going to try to get through this. I don’t know what it’ll take for them to say, ‘Enough is enough.’"
Prior to her custody, Emma had hinted towards their conflicting personalities during an earlier interview.
Speaking to Nylon magazine for their August 2013 issue, Emma admitted she didn't see eye to eye with Evan when they first met.
She recalled: "We first met at a dinner party, and then we worked together on a movie [Adult World], which we did not date during. We didn't get along, actually – he wouldn't speak to me.”
Despite initially getting off on the wrong foot, Emma mentioned the pair eventually realised they had feelings for each other, which resulted in their relationship one month later.
“[It] worked out for the best,” she gushed.
Ironically, Emma also spoke about her squeaky clean image.
She explained: "I can't say I'm never going to mess up, but if I do, I'll definitely be very sorry."
