Man knife in back, A New Jersey Man, knife in back and all, slept the night away for 10 hours, totally unaware he had been stabbed. Sunday, Trenton police were called to the stabbing victim’s home and said the man was involved in an altercation the night before. The blade in the man's back was removed successfully, but the alleged assailant is still at large.
An unnamed man, 42, with a knife lodged in his back, woke up after hours of sleeping because he was feeling pain in the center of his spine, according to NJ.com . He called on his brother, who found a blade lodge in the victim's back. Apparently, he was stabbed hours earlier and was oblivious about the injury.
Police were called to the 600 block of North Clinton Avenue, where they met with the man and found a knife still in his back. Accordingly, he was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors removed the blade.
Officers say the stabbing victim was on his porch just after 2 a.m. when someone approached him and asked for smoke. At some point, the two men began fighting and the suspect fled after he was losing the confrontation. Investigators believe the New Jersey man was likely stabbed in the back during the fight.
However, because he had been drinking before and/or after the fight, it could explain why he was not aware of being assaulted with the blade.
Authorities say the victim was "uncooperative" and they are not able to get a full and credible description of the attacker.
