Chrissy Teigen devours Food Network’s New York City Wine & Food Festival, This supermodel prefers the cakewalk to the catwalk any day.
Chrissy Teigen was front and center at the New York City Wine & Food Festival this weekend, and proved she isn’t afraid to get a little messy.
At Friday’s Burger Bash, the flawless foodie, dressed in an all-white blouse and beige shorts, was jonesing for comfort food.
“I eat burgers. I eat fried chicken. I eat waffles. I’m crazy about hearty foods,” Teigen told the Daily News.
The brunette bombshell was rooting for her favorite chef, five-time Burger Bash champ Josh Capon.
In between bites, the two found time to put aside the chuck and have some chuckles.Chrissy Teigen just wouldn’t take my word for it that I had a bigger belly than she did...” Capon wrote on a photo of the duo comparing their bellies.
“Chopped” judge Marc Murphy won the Burger Bash with his Lamb-Marc burger, a lamb patty topped with a fresh mint chimichurri. And continuing his winning streak, Capon of Burger and Barrel scored the coveted title of people’s choice with his juicy, Bash Burger made with onion-bacon jam.
The Wine & Food Festival was all about indulging for Teigen, who said the late-night food fiesta Tacos and Tequila was “ruining her diet,” Saturday night.
So how does the stunning supermodel maintain her fit figure?
She said it’s all about balance.“I did eat whatever I wanted in the past couple of weeks and people have certainly pointed that out,” laughed Teigen.
When she's looking to cut carbs without compromising her cravings, she'll order one of Capon’s lettuce wraps.
"It makes me feel like I'm not depriving myself. It's all about tricking yourself into believing you're eating that thing,” added Teigen, who is also a celebrity endorser for Yoplait Greek yogurt.
When she’s not eating at her favorite SoHo restaurant Lure Fishbar, Teigen is whipping up recipes of her own, but she won’t let musical hubby John Legend cut into her culinary territory for long.
"After I hear a few chops happening in the kitchen, I gotta get up," says the cover girl.
"You know when you can tell someone can't chop and it's like so slow and painful? It kills me."
