Westgate suspect denies involvement in attack, A suspect charged with taking part in the Kenya mall massacre has claimed innocence at a bail application.
"I am a Muslim who believes in the sanctity of human life, and had nothing to do with the murderous attack on the Westgate Mall whatsoever," said Adan Mohamed Abidkadir Adan.
The attack is understood to have been carried out by four gunmen, not 12 like initially reported by security officials, all of whom died during the attack.
At least 67 people died during the four day attack at Westgate mall in Nairobi, Kenya. The attack was said to be carried out by al-Shebab, a Somalian al-Qaeda linked group, demanding Kenya remove its troops from southern Somalia.
