Reese Witherspoon arrest apology George Stephanopoulos

Reese Witherspoon arrest apology George Stephanopoulos, Thirteen days after her husband was pulled over and arrested for driving while intoxicated, Reese Witherspoon broke her silence about the incident in an appearance Wednesday on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” in which she repeatedly apologized for her “poor judgement.”

The timing of the mea culpa probably had something to do with the fact that Witherspoon has a new movie to plug, “Mud,” which “GMA” anchor George Stephanopoulos delved into after three minutes of questioning about the arrest.

As Witherspoon explained, she and her husband, CAA agent Jim Toth, had “one too many” drinks over a dinner in Atlanta and made the mistake of getting behind the wheel. The actress maintained her composure throughout the interview, which ranged from her describing her panic at the sight of her husband getting arrested to what she told her children about the incident.

As first reported in Variety, Witherspoon was arrested along with her husband on a disorderly conduct charge after failing to adhere to the police officer’s repeated warning not to exit the vehicle.
