Billy The Exterminator arrested on drug possession

Billy The Exterminator arrested on drug possession, The star of the A&E Network reality show "Billy the Exterminator" and his wife plead not guilty to drug charges in a Bossier Parish court Wednesday morning.

Billy Bretherton and his wife Mary will be back in court on September 19. They were arrested back in June for possession of synthetic marijuana.

KSLA News 12's Adria Goins was in court today for the hearing. She said Billy and his wife arrived to the courthouse early to avoid media coverage. Inside the courtroom, the pair sat in the back of the courtroom, with Billy keeping his head in his hands, looking down most of the time. They finally made their plea at 11:15 a.m.

According to Bossier City police, officers responded to a 911 hang up call on April 28 from a room at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel at the Louisiana Boardwalk.

When officers got to the room, they made contact with William and Mary Bretherton of Benton, Louisiana and found suspected synthetic marijuana and a device commonly used to smoke narcotics.

Police say they took the suspected marijuana to the Northwest Louisiana Crime Lab in Shreveport for testing.

Bossier City spokesperson Mark Natale said in June, Bossier Police were told the substance came back positive from the crime lab as synthetic marijuana.

Arrest warrants were issued for Billy and Mary on misdemeanor  charges of possession of schedule I of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The couple was contacted by police about the warrants and they came to the police department on June 1 and turned themselves in.

Both bonded out of the Bossier City Jail later that same day.

Each had a total bond of $6,000 ($5,000 each for the possession of schedule 1 cds charge and $1000 each for the possession of drug paraphernalia charge).

Bretherton is currently shooting season 5 of his reality show, Billy the Exterminator.
